Sports Law

Citadel not only has a comprehensive team of advocates, equipped to deal with any type of sports related case, but also several members sit as part time Judges or on the Sports Disciplinary Panels themselves.

We have a number of specialists dealing with RFU, FA and other Disciplinary and Appellate Tribunals. Chambers has forged strong relationships with a number of local and regional sporting clubs. Members of Citadel have represented a large number of sporting figures from all manner of disciplines as well as advising a number of sports bodies themselves. As a result, Citadel Chambers attracts a range of clients, from major sport governing bodies to teams, clubs and individuals.

Using this wealth of experience the members of our team each add a particular field of expertise to the sporting calendar. Several members of the team have played an array of sports to national standard and most others have lifelong commitments to and support for various sports, including managing, coaching, refereeing, umpiring and membership of football, rugby, cricket, hockey, athletics, gold and tennis clubs. In essence, we have a member of the team to suit any client and advise upon any sporting issue.

Members of the team are registered with the Bar Council to accept instructions directly from members of the public, companies or other organisations under the Public Access Scheme - please refer to the Public Access section of this website for further information.
