Career background

Prior to call to the Bar, was a member of the Ministry of Defence police force for some 16 years.   Joined Citadel in 2011, having previously practiced at Equity Chambers in Birmingham.

Crime 

Has established a criminal practice which embraces all areas of work, including allegations of sexual offences, violence, offences in connection with controlled drugs, and money laundering.

A firearms expert, whose earlier career experience is a substantial asset when instructed in such cases. Has a particular interest in motoring matters, and has experience of dealing with motoring cases at all levels, including 'exceptional hardship' cases.

Notable previous cases have included R -v- Brewster & another [2010] EWCA Crim 1194, [2011] 1 WLR 601, the leading case on the admission of a non-defendant's bad character.   


Family

Accepts instructions in child care and ancillary relief proceedings.
